Good evening to all NALG QLD Members and Supporters,

NALG QLD 2021 is shaping up to be a fantastic year ahead! There will be some changes, some new ventures but most of all the NALG QLD golfing atmosphere will be as amazing as ever!

The newly elected Treasurer/Secretary Annie Findley is currently transitioning into this NALG QLD role.  Annie is in the process of setting up a new lefties email and all members will be informed of the new contact details for NALG QLD in the near future. NALG QLD PRESIDENT REPORT

AGM for Queensland branch or the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LEFT HANDED GOLFERS was held at the Keperra golf club on the 28th of March at 8.30 am. Attendance was down but with the uncertainty of conditions that is happening with covid and lockdowns in the Brisbane area I can understand why people are a bit wary of travel.

Re-election of Col Clark as president and Jeff Hogan as captain and newly elected treasurer Annie Findley .  Tony Flynn retired due to commitments and am sorry to see him leave.

The main topic of discussion was 2022 National Titles to be held at Coolangatta/Tweed Heads golf club that will be run by the Queensland branch of NALGA. A sub-committee was formed so will be in close contact to put this together and we will keep all members informed as we go along....will be a great event for members and families from 13th to 18th November 2022 (dates to be confirmed).

Do not forget the National titles in Tocumwal down on the MURRAY Monday 15th November to Friday, 19th November, 2021 and booking accommodation is vital.

I am very pleased to inform all our members that our lady of golf, a tireless worker and supporter was made a life member. Congratulations to Janice Andrewartha! Between Janice and husband John we wish to thank you for your long time support and readers don’t forget their great weekend of golf at Hervey Bay in December.

Thursday, 10 December 2020

The NALG QLD Committee would like to wish all members, families, friends and supporters a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I would also like to thank Jeff Hogan, NALG QLD Captain, who has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks trying to organise a NALG QLD end of year event location with very little success. Due to the popularity of golf, there are no golf venues available to cater for non-members / groups except for one on the north side of Brisbane who offered tee times of 5.30am or 2pm in an attempt to support NALG QLD. Jeff said to inform you all that he hopes that you are enjoying the game of golf at your respective home clubs and will continue contacting golf venues to secure a NALG QLD event location for early 2021.
Stay healthy, safe travels if out and about over Christmas and the New Year, fit in a game of golf if you can and enjoy the festive season with your loved ones!

NALG QLD UPDATE:

All scheduled NALG QLD 2020 events were cancelled as per our last official update on 6 July 2020.

The NALG QLD Committee have decided that ALL events will not be rescheduled and there is definitely NO  Coolangatta-Tweed event in September due to border closures and the current urgent QLD Government COVID19 advice.

Please continue to refer to these websites for QLD Government COVID19 Information;

Monday, 6 July 2020

Good Morning to all!

Thank you to all NALG QLD members who replied by June 30 to the email regarding when to resume NALG QLD events.

Your responses have been forwarded to the committee and will be taken extremely seriously in terms of the COVID19 situation.

The committee will monitor the Queensland COVID19 data closely over the next few weeks especially when the borders reopen to ensure we don't have a spike in cases like that unfolding in Victoria at this present moment in time.

If an NALG QLD event is to be organised, Captain Jeff Hogan will inform you all in August of a possible venue, date, cost, time and COVID19 precautions that would be put in place. If an event was to proceed then you will be asked to nominate via the event email to confirm the number of players  so Jeff can confirm with the venue that a NALG QLD event would proceed.

Captain Jeff Hogan said that all future events if they were to proceed will be new venues with new dates (all previous venues have been cancelled) and all members will be informed month to month by emails. Jeff will not be contacting any golf venues in advance only month to month as the committee continues to monitor the COVID19 case numbers etc.

The committee appreciates that many of you wish to resume NALG QLD events asap seeing you are all playing golf at your home clubs. The committee has chosen at this time to proceed with caution before organising events on a month to month basis until they can be sure that all QLD COViD19 cases continue to remain at NIL once the borders reopen.

Regards,

Renitta
(on behalf of the NALG QLD Committee)
